  14. O.K., here is a good question for you UNIX gurus. I had left my machine
  15. (a working NeXTstation 20/200 running 3.0) for about 2 hours. When I
  16. came back the screen was totally black. A little odd. I managed to
  17. fix that problem with the brightness on the keyboard, but that's when 
  18. I noticed that my NeXT was dead.

  20. That's right, nothing worked, at all. I did the "command" "command" "~"
  21. thing to get to the ROM monitor. I typed msg=12 to get the last couple 
  22. of messages, and what I saw I have no idea what it means. This is recited 
  23. from memory, because after fixing the problem I can't seem to find the
  24. error listed anywhere. Anyway, the error reads as:

  26.     dubtkin getting traffic on inactive circuit

  28. What does this mean? Is it very bad?

  30. After reading this I tried to reboot. It did nothing. I had to pull the
  31. plug to get it back. This is where the next problem comes up. When I 
  32. powered back up, the screen (monochrome BTW) was very (I mean very) dim.
  33. After all the sync'ing of the disk and a clean reboot I was able to bring 
  34. the screen back to full brightness. Why was it dim?

  36. Any help, hints, or just a good guess would be very much appreciated.
