  10. penUltimate development is proud to offer a demonstration version
  11. of our soon to be released product _DBConnect for Ingres_.
  12.  
  13. DBConnect for Ingres allows a NeXT workstation connected to 
  14. a Unix Host running Ingres to build an application that 
  15. accesses an Ingres database.

  17. DBConnect for Ingres has three Components:

  19. >>     The Connection Server:

  21.     The Connection Server, which executes on the Ingres Unix Host,
  22.     allows the NeXT to access Ingres Databases.

  24. >>  The IngresAdaptor
  25.  
  26.     A DBKit Adaptor which, through the Connection Server, allows a NeXT
  27.     developer to build a NeXTstep Ingres application.

  29. >>     The DBConnect API
  30.  
  31.     An application programmers interface which allows a C programmer to
  32.     port existent Ingres applications to the NeXT. Additionally the
  33.     DBConnect API can be used to supplement NeXT's DBKit functionality.

  39. penUltimate will email you a copy of the IngresAdaptor and Connection Server
  40. for your evaluation. The DBConnect for Ingres Demo has the following 
  41. restrictions:

  43. 1. Only the Sun Version of the Connection Server is available, contact 
  44.    penUltimate for information and availability of other platforms.
  45.  
  46. 2. The Connection Server will exit after disconnecting from a database
  47.     ( you need to restart it after an application exits )
  48.  
  49. 3. The Connection Server will only run for an hour.
  50.  
  51. 4. The DBConnect API is not included.
  52.  
  53. 5. Silent login through the adaptor is disabled.

  56. penUltimate has included several demonstration programs to allow you to
  57. easily evaluate it's functionality.
