  15. I just got a NeXTstation and a CD rom (not 3.0 yet) and am a little
  16. confused.  Now the CD Drive has the headphone jacks etc on the front
  17. and I got the PD CDPlayer program so that works fine.  That's about
  18. all I've been able to do.  My questions are:

  20. 1) Why is this not part of the OS?  Is it in 3.0?
  21.  
  22. 2) Am I missing something or is there like basically no doc on CD Drives?
  23.   I can't find anything (at all!) in the manuals that even mentions 'CD'
  24.   The manual that came with the drive is pretty much useless.

  26. 3) Following the manual's instructions I inserted a High
  27.   Sierra or ISO CD and contrary to the manual, I did not in fact get
  28.   either an error message or a NEXTDISC appearing in my dock. Is there
  29.   some other magic I must do?

  31. 4) The most important question of them all.  How do I pump the data
  32.   from music CDs through the DSP?  Actually, for now, I'd be happy to
  33.   just get a regular program to process it.
