- On a different note (that is, somethign other than NS486),
- has anyone considered that NeXT ought to do a quickie port
- of NS486 to the Amiga (the A4000 is 68040, and there are
- a number of 68040 A3000's...) and to the Mac (the
- Quads)..
-
- I can't imagine that such a port would be terribly
- difficult--_especially_ the port to the Mac.
-
- Maybe a port to the Atari (ha ha ha) Falcon (it does,
- after all, have a DSP on board)..
-
- This would seem to me to be a quick and easy way to
- increase the possible market share for NeXT, and given
- that the a Mac 950 is not all to different from
- a station (but with better video options) and is
- about equal in price range (i.e. not going to cause the
- NeXT-hardware-sales death that NS486 will)--it would
- seem to be a very logical path to take.
-
- The Amiga? Well, the video hardware there might actually
- halp make up for some of the speed problems of NS3.0...
-
- How long could it take? A few months?
-
- Anyone?
