  13.     On a different note (that is, somethign other than NS486), 
  14.     has anyone considered that NeXT ought to do a quickie port
  15.     of NS486 to the Amiga (the A4000 is 68040, and there are
  16.     a number of 68040 A3000's...) and to the Mac (the 
  17.     Quads)..

  19.     I can't imagine that such a port would be terribly 
  20.     difficult--_especially_ the port to the Mac.

  22.     Maybe a port to the Atari (ha ha ha) Falcon (it does, 
  23.     after all, have a DSP on board)..

  25.     This would seem to me to be a quick and easy way to 
  26.     increase the possible market share for NeXT, and given
  27.     that the a Mac 950 is not all to different from
  28.     a station (but with better video options) and is
  29.     about equal in price range (i.e. not going to cause the
  30.     NeXT-hardware-sales death that NS486 will)--it would
  31.     seem to be a very logical path to take.

  33.     The Amiga?  Well, the video hardware there might actually
  34.     halp make up for some of the speed problems of NS3.0...
