  12. I purchased a really cheap 14.4 .42bis modem at Fry's the other day.  It claims to have to GroupIII FAX compatability, but when I tried it with NeXT's classII driver or Interfax driver (really the same, I realize) I get the following error:

  15.     (on the console)

  17. I'm really confused.  Does NeXT's driver not support all classII devices (and by extension classIII drivers)?  have I done something wrong?  I checked
  18. /usr/lib/NextPrinter and sure enough the driver is there...

  20. I'd appreciate any help or even a suggestion of a possible software fix or other
  21. cheap modem.  Thanks in advance.

  25. ps.  Oh I almost forgot.  The modem is made by The Complete PC and is called
  26. Turbo Modem Plus.  It was $300.
