- In "West of Eden", author Frank Rose suggests that Jobs surrounds himself
- with a "reality-distortion field" that he turns on (and off, I guess)
- as a defense and attack mechanism. People close to Steve tend to get
- caught up in the "field" at least until they return to Earth. You don't
- get the feeling that he is so much arrogant as he is so totally self-
- confident that he can't always get in touch with reality (maybe that's
- the same thing :-) What I mean is that his arrogance isn't malevolent
- but rather well-intended but often misguided. It sure does explain
- some of the behavior from NeXT. I often wish that Steve would take
- an active interest in the Internet, at least on one news group, this
- one, so that we, as users could be more in touch, and so that he too
- could be more in touch. Probably just too busy :-)
