- I have been having a strange problem with my system. I have a Mac IIfx, 16
- Mbytes RAM, E-machines T-16, Futura SX card, 200 Mbyte internal HD @ SCSI 0,
- and a 1 Gbyte external HD @ 4. My IIfx ROM is version 124.
-
- The driver on the external HD appears to be
- damaged with the symptom that folders copied into another folder on the
- external HD pop up at the root level of the HD. Any folders internal to the
- folder being copied also pop out of the folder onto the root level of the
- external HD. Another symptom is when I create a new folder inside of a folder
- on the external HD, the new folder pops up on the root level. This only occurs
- on the external HD. If I then try to create another new folder the machine
- locks up. Replacing the HD driver usually temporarily fixes the problem,
- although I sometimes have to rebuild the desktop. I replaced the external HD
- with another drive and differnt SCSI address, with no effect. The Apple hot
- line was no help. Does anyone have any suggestions?
