- i had this problem when i had 2 versions of word, one of which i had
- hacked with resedit, and it was always loading the other one, which i
- was keeping around for purposes of having my original non hacked
- version around just in case
-
- so i put word in a top level directory i called zarchives, and rebuilt
- the desktop, and it worked fine
-
- so what i figure is, when it starts the mac, it mounts each drive in
- order, and as each drive is mounted, it scans the folders
- alphabetically for applications to run
-
- so something based on those rules should make things easier
- like if you can rename a bunch of folders with letters like x y and z
- at the beginning, and thenthe regular name afterwards
- assuming you can do something like that...
