- Ever since I upgraded my PB100 to 8Meg, half the time I boot it up
- from shutdown, it comes up to the '?' icon like it can't find the
- HD (which I also recently upgraded to 40Mb, but the problem didn't
- start until I also took the memory up to 8Mb). So far, I have
- been able to cure the problem by pressing the reset button (the one
- closest to the front of the keyboard); the PB resets and proceeds
- to boot from the HD. It always works first time.
-
- Does anybody know what the problem is likely to be?
-
- So, I was thinking it was something to do with SCSI. But, I thought
- the ROM sent a SCSI reset every now and then when sitting at the
- '?' icon anyway. I don't know what else pressing the reset button
- would do to cause my PB to boot up. Could the 40Mb drive be 'slow' to
- spin up?
