- The minimum file size of the drive has to do with on old limitation
- of the file system that dates back to the prodos era on the Apple][
- series. Basically, the maximum number of logical blocks on a drive
- is 32k or therabouts. So the bigger the drive, the larger the logical
- block. The only alternative is to hard partition the drive into
- smaller volumes.

- Incidentially, this effect can be seen on cdroms, as the allocation
- block size on a cdrom is 10k.
