- A user at our site has just got a copy of MacX to run on his MacIIcx under
- System 7. Unfortunately, he is getting the following error message
- when he tries to start the terminal emulator xterm on any of our UNIX
- machines :-
- The command "...." could not be executed via the tool MacTCP.
- Creation of the remote command stream failed.
-
- The connection came up halfway and then failed.
-
- The mac has extra memory installed so shortage of memory is unlikely to
- be the cause of the problem.
- Unfortunately the MacX manuals are not all that helpful in this case.
- Everything seems ok at the Mac end - MacTCP is fine since the user has
- been using Eudora and Telnet for ages.
- There's probably something wrong on the UNIX side but so far I've failed
- to find anything.
- The Mac is on ethernet and communicates via a GatorBox.
-
- Has anyone experienced similar difficulties or can suggest remedies ?
