- You might try partitioning the drive into smaller volumes. I've used
- SilverLining to make all of the partitions less than 100k, keeping
- the minimum file size on any volume down. Several volumes also allows me to
- mount what I need and keep the number of files per disk down (historically,
- a lot of files slowed down the display of directories, and required the
- Desktop Manager).
