- Paul,
-
- I recently downloaded the DA called ColorDesk, inserted it,
- and used it for a while. I came across an error which you might
- want to know about.
-
- The error consists of large pictures with very large color table
- entries. Such a picture is the "Dragons of Ice" picture found at
- ftp.apple.com. The picture contains so many different colors that
- ColorDesk, basically, barfs on it. Or to put that another way, I
- have noted that ColorDesk will either not load the picture, that it
- will load it after several attemps, garbages ColorDesk itself on the
- hard disk, or garbages the picture.
-
- I do not know why the last two are done except that maybe by loading
- in such a large picture part of the code for ColorDesk is getting
- clobbered and this causes it to do random things (such as writing over
- itself).????
-
- At any rate, I just wanted you to know about this. If you want more
- information on what kind of a system I'm running on and what all else
- I have running at the same time, then feel free to write me via e-mail
- and I'll send you whatever kind of info you need. ColorDesk seems like
- a package I need - so I'd like to help you with whatever problems it
- might have. :)
-
- Thanks. Talk to you later. Sorry to everyone else who might be
- reading this, but I don't know Paul's email address. :(
