- Two possibilities here.
- 1) Disk has been exposed to heat/magnet/etc that has caused it to go bad.
- Try Norton Disk Doctor, but mostly likely the data is gone.

- 2)If the disk has two holes in it, then it is a High Density disk. It may
- have been formatted on a machine without a SuperDrive as a Double Density
- disk, and the Super Drive on the new machine can not read it. Fix-put a
- piece of tape over the hole that is not the write protect hole.

- The second is the most likely since you mentioned you had a "new" mac.
