- You're kidding. Apple would *never* be able to make money selling MS-DOS
- clones.
-
- No MS-DOS user would put up with being told that he has to visit his dealer
- in person before they'll deign to sell him a computer. No MS-DOS user would
- wait two weeks for that machine to be delivered. No MS-DOS user would wait
- four weeks for it to be repaired. No MS-DOS user would buy a machine
- claiming to be supplied with "a free copy of <x>" and accept that what it was
- actually supplied with was "a free cut-down demo copy of <x>, if you send
- away a card and wait five weeks". No MS-DOS user would accept buying a
- machine advertised as being supplied with remote access software, only to be
- told he'll have to pay another $250 for that.
-
- I'm clearly no MS-DOS user.

- Macintosh System 7.1 -- just say no. If I'd wanted to pay $50 for OS upgrades
- I'd have bought an IBM.
