- I recently added a couple of boards and some RAM to my Mac IIfx,
- and now I'm experiencing some problems with the NTSC signal from
- my TrueVision NuVista+ board.
-
- My old system configurations was
-
- Mac IIfx
- 8 1-Mbytes SIMMS
- 1 SuperMac ColorCard/24 with graphics Accelerator
- 1 TrueVision NuVista+ board with 2 Mbytes video Ram
- 1 Digidesign AudioMedia DSP board
-
-
- I wanted to upgrade to
-
- Mac IIfx
- 4 4-Mbyte SIMMS, 4 1-Mbyte SIMMS
- 1 SuperMac ColorCard/24
- 1 TrueVision NuVista+
- 1 Digidesign AudioMedia
- 1 SuperMac NuBus Video Spigot
- 1 Diaquest Animaq VTR controller
-
-
- The problem was the NuVista+ NTSC composite signal was
- unstable. About every 60 seconds there would be severe
- horizontal fluctuations. The fluctuations would last
- about 5-10 seconds then stablize for another 60 seconds.
-
- When I removed the Diaquest Animaq board the problems
- stopped. Because of this my guess is that something is
- either wrong with the Diaquest board -- it has previously
- been unused -- or I'm overtaxing the power supply.
-
- I think ( and hope ) that it's the latter.
-
- I solicite and will appreciate any ideas and recommendations
- how to determine the exact problem, and/or what I should do
- to correct it.
