  10. I recently added a couple of boards and some RAM to my Mac IIfx,
  11. and now I'm experiencing some problems with the NTSC signal from
  12. my TrueVision NuVista+ board.

  14. My old system configurations was

  16. Mac IIfx
  17. 8 1-Mbytes SIMMS
  18. 1 SuperMac ColorCard/24 with graphics Accelerator
  19. 1 TrueVision NuVista+ board with 2 Mbytes video Ram
  20. 1 Digidesign AudioMedia DSP board

  23. I wanted to upgrade to

  25. Mac IIfx
  26. 4 4-Mbyte SIMMS, 4 1-Mbyte SIMMS
  27. 1 SuperMac ColorCard/24
  28. 1 TrueVision NuVista+
  29. 1 Digidesign AudioMedia 
  30. 1 SuperMac NuBus Video Spigot
  31. 1 Diaquest Animaq VTR controller

  34. The problem was the NuVista+ NTSC composite signal was
  35. unstable.  About every 60 seconds there would be severe
  36. horizontal fluctuations.  The fluctuations would last
  37. about 5-10 seconds then stablize for another 60 seconds.

  39. When I removed the Diaquest Animaq board the problems
  40. stopped.  Because of this my guess is that something is
  41. either wrong with the Diaquest board -- it has previously
  42. been unused -- or I'm overtaxing the power supply.

  44. I think ( and hope ) that it's the latter.

  46. I solicite and will appreciate any ideas and recommendations
  47. how to determine the exact problem, and/or what I should do
  48. to correct it.
