- I had a similar problem pop up lately and finally managed to get rid of the
- bloody file by doing the following:
-
- -Boot up with System 7
- -Run the "Disk First Aid" program to check and repair the hard drive
- -Reboot with System 6.0.8
- -Trash the folder and files from hell.
-
- I normally run system 6 on the Classic, so I had trouble running the most
- recent "Disk First Aid" until I booted from a System 7 floppy. First Aid
- seemed to do something to the disk, but I still couldn't trash the file or
- folder. I rebooted from the hard drive again (back to S6.0.8), and voila!
- The folder and file from hell went quietly into the trash and have been
- heard from no more.
-
- Of course, most of the details of this switching back and forth between
- systems is probably irrelevant. I suspect it was simply a matter of
- running the new First Aid program to fix the hard drive, then I need only
- have rebooted and trashed the hell folder/file.
-
- It doesn't make a lot of sense, but it worked for me in this particular
- strange case.
