- I am in a perfect position to experiment with such an upgrade.
-
- I am graduating. Beginning to look at other, more powerful
- platforms. I have used a sodering iron in the past. I think
- it would be fun to play around with the internal guts and
- do not fear the potential consequences. (any of them like
- I said I am outgrowing machine and if it dies it dies)
-
- I don't have the reccomended procedure and would appreciate
- hearing the specifics of all the different approaches used.
-
- 1) Where to order the parts and what part #'s to get
-
- 2) What is the minimum/maximum modification that I can do
- -IE I heard mention of heat sinks and/or sockets
- that were inserted
- -I am willing to go all out and spend 30-40$ if
- necessary to minimize the problems
-
- My machine was received in January of '91 with the 5/80 configuration
- and has a Quicksilver cache card w/FPU.
-
- Thanks!
