- I'm trying to upgrade my IIsi to 17 Meg, by using 4 4 Meg, 80ns SIMMs.
- When I bring the machine up, everything seems fine until I move the mouse.
- Then, I get a series of black horizontal lines near the cursor. If I
- switch the SIMMs around, the black lines sometimes appear in other places.
- The lines disappear as soon as the cursor stops moving. The black lines
- are more like a distortion than a row of black pixels. It is annoying enough
- that the machine can't be used.
-
- I assumed that the memory was bad, but I installed a new set of SIMMs with
- the same results.
-
- When I return to my original 5 Megabytes of RAM, the problem goes away.
-
- I would very much appreciate any facts or even speculation about what is
- going on.
