  14. Re the SE with internal 20-meg drive; I just had occasion to ask
  15. Berkeley Mac User Group's advice on ours which is flaky -- usually
  16. "not there" but sometimes shows up on boot for a while, then fades out.

  18. Their advice:  "that's typical of those old Miniscribes" and the best
  19. approach is probably just to take the drive out (replace it, or leave it
  20. out and use an external hard disk).  They're gonna look at ours next
  21. week and see if any disk tools have a chance at salvaging it. But
  22. it's said to be a familiar problem these drives have with age.
