- No. Your sister has 4 256KB SIMMs installed in her SE (with four SIMM slots).
- A partial upgrade consists of 2 1MB SIMMs which replace two of the 256KB
- SIMMs, bring her total memory to 2.5 MB. A complete memory upgrade replaces
- all four 256KB SIMMs with 1MB SIMMs, bringing her to 4MB. Without a special
- board and software, an SE cannot have more than 4MB of memory.

- The salesman must have been confused. An SE/30 has 8 SIMM slots in two banks
- of four. EAch bank must have all its slots filled with the same size SIMM.
- Thus, an SE/30 can have 1MB (4 256KB SIMMs + 4 empty slots)
- 2MB (all 8 slots filled with 256KB SIMMs)
- 5MB (4 256KB SIMMs + 4 1MB SIMMs)
- or 8MB (all 8 slots filled with 1MB SIMMs)
