- I had a user with a Mac II, and 4- 1MB and 4- 4MB SIMMs w/PAL, running
- system 7 w/mode32 init set to 32bit at all times, rev B MLB. No PMMU, no
- superdrive ROMs. Without refreshing my memory from notes, I seem to
- recall being unable to get past the system diagnostics on restart after
- loading in 4MB SIMMs in one of the banks, and being unable to access >8MB
- RAM total with the 4MB SIMMs in the other bank. The requirements
- according to our campus bookstore tech was that the ROMs were needed, and
- in fact this did the trick. No PMMU. This sucker did cause me
- considerable hassles. And it was the dep't chairman's secretary's mac,
- of course...
- Steve, I believe you were instrumental in helping out with this same mac.
- Thanks, even though I can't explain why yours _does_ work!!!
