  45. I had a user with a Mac II, and 4- 1MB and 4- 4MB SIMMs w/PAL, running
  46. system 7 w/mode32 init set to 32bit at all times, rev B MLB.  No PMMU, no
  47. superdrive ROMs.  Without refreshing my memory from notes, I seem to
  48. recall being unable to get past the system diagnostics on restart after
  49. loading in 4MB SIMMs in one of the banks, and being unable to access >8MB
  50. RAM total with the 4MB SIMMs in the other bank.  The requirements
  51. according to our campus bookstore tech was that the ROMs were needed, and
  52. in fact this did the trick.  No PMMU.  This sucker did cause me
  53. considerable hassles.  And it was the dep't chairman's secretary's mac,
  54. of course...
  55. Steve, I believe you were instrumental in helping out with this same mac.
