It started right after I installed Micron Xeed 8-bit color card and the gray-
scale adapter myself this spring. Sometimes when I insert a floppy disk into
the drive, the drive wouldn't recognize the presence of the disk. The mechanism
would pull the disk into the drive, but the reading/writing head wouldn't spin.
If I use a paper clip trying to eject the disk, as soon as I put the paper clip
through the hole, the drive would come back to life again. However, it keeps
occurring every couple of weeks or so. Recently it happens a lot more frequently, and sometimes I have to put the paper clip through the hole a couple of times before the drive revives. It's getting very annoying.
Anyone knows what's wrong with it and how to fix it besides bringing the machine to an Apple dealer (something a college freshman cannot afford to do)
