- This is part of a particulary insidious copy protection scheme. Some
- application on your Macs requires the EVE key and INIT to be present to
- run.

- Fortunately, most Mac software developers have gotten a clue and don't use
- the damn thing. Copy protection is bad enough, perhaps even a necessary
- evil, but HARDWARE copy protection is ridiculous. Any software developer
- that uses HARDWARE copy protection on mass-market applications deserves to
- go out of business. The *only* place I find it even marginally acceptable
- is with custom developed vertical market applications, and even then I'm
- not so sure...
