- Just a thought about the metal cases. I buy into the idea that
- it was a low cost - better EMF shielding choice. ESPECIALLY since
- this was to be a home computer (Performa 600) and you had to go
- for HOME FCC rather than OFFICE FCC requirements on EMF, while
- allowing third parties to provide NuBus products that might really
- broadcast alot of noise. I am sure without all the expansion
- option, a plastic mold with sprayon screen might have sufficed
- (as the lowend models have). But the higher end models with
- expansion usually required full internal metal shielding. So
- I presume this was a cheaper alternative?
