- I'm looking for a somewhat-larger-than-640x480 color monitor for a IIci.
- When I started looking, I assumed that I could find an approx 800x600
- resolution monitor for just a little more money. Now I'm not so sure.
-
- Does anyone have anything to recommend? 8-bit color would be *fine*.
-
- Some ideas I've considered:
- Color Pivot LE:-- problem: it has been discontinued (I may still be able
- to find one, though, if anyone has a really strong recommendation).
- Color Pivot -- problem: it costs TWICE the LE.
-
- NEC 3FGx + NEC board -- problem: the board costs $800.
- NEC 3FGx + another board -- Problem: whose? Any suggestions for a compatible
- board in the $400 range?
-
- conventional 16-17" approach: problem: monitor+board runs $1700 or so.
- (I visited some dealers; this is what they all wanted to sell me.)
-
- I'm trying to keep the price as little above 1K as possible.
-
- I guess my real problem is that most equipment marketed for this niche
- is directed towards high-end DTP. I'm not interested in that; all I *really*
- want is enough room to be able to edit my foo.c and foo.h files simultaneously!
