- I remember reading a while ago about a program that could take MC680x0
- object code and turn it into MC88100 object code, with the resulting
- translated 680x0 code running at about 90% of the speed of code written
- for the 88100. Does anyone else remember reading about this, and what
- happened to it?
-
- If this program really does exist, then it might be possible to buy
- its source and re-target it so that it produces PowerPC object code.
- Then developers could probably produce PowerPC versions of their
- 680x0 based Mac applications in about a month, allowing for testing
- for obscure bugs and getting all the code resource translations right.
