  17. It can be done -- Motorola had/(has?) an App. Note about doing this, i.e.
  18. putting an 020 platform board into an existing 68000 system.  I think the
  19. idea at the time was to let people start developing code for the 020 at
  20. a time in the distant past when little or no 020 hardware was in the world.

  22. Anyway, it was not-trivial.  Basically a state machine matched up the two
  23. different bus-cycles and generated the necessary signals on both ends.
  24. There was a handful of TTL including flip-flops involved.  I have the app.
  25. note filed somewhere and have intentions of using it RSN. :-)  BTW, changing
  26. from an 020 to an 030 would be trivial, the bus cycles are identical.

  31. I think I would go with the 030 -- for one thing the 030 MMU is far nicer,
  32. from what I have heard about the 451.  And 68451's are probably hard to
  33. find.
