- For all those who would like to know if they have a 16550 UART chip in their
- computer, there is a pretty common program named is16550.zip on most BBSs that
- will check if they have a 16550 (DOS). Many diagnostics programs also have
- info on this as well, including MSD.exe, packaged with Windows. When I wanted
- a 16550 I had a heck of a time finding an IO card that actually had a
- 16450--most of the cards I found had their UARTs integrated, which is why I
- had to find another IO card in the first place. Good luck.
