- We just had a serious head crash with an ESDI drive of a somewhat
- older PS/2. We'd like to replace the drive, as the machine is quite
- well equipped (token ring, memory, '387 etc.). Now two questions:
- o can i get an off-the-shelf drive, connect it and it works? Or am
- i forced to get one of the overpriced IBM drives?
- o where can i get an ESDI drive? The ads in the computer magazines
- have IDE and SCSI drives, only...
- Size is not a big deal, (50-100MB), but should be less than US$ 1000.
- Or should i get a (MicroChannel-)SCSI controller + drive instead? Any
- caveats with this combo?
