- Hi.
- Would anyone know how to find out what lot number a PS/2 case lock is. I have
- a PS/2 that has a bad controller for its external floppy drive. The case is
- locked and nobody knows where the key is. IBM wants $170/hr to come down and
- change the lock. But if I can find what the LOT number is, our local dealer
- could open it for much less. Any help is appreciated?
-
- Also, I have a model 30 with parity check1 00000(S) error. I looked it up, it
- is memory error at that address. However, this old model 30 has 128K on the
- motherboard and two 256K SIMM module. To change the motherboard IBM needs $695
- for a new motherboard plus labor. BTW, the video component on the motherboard
- also has problems. My question is if I decide to use a compatible motherboard
- to repair it what addtional new parts I need to be able to use its 720K floppy
- and 20MB HD and monitor.
-
- Thanks in advance.
