- In an announcement from IBM they state that the XGA-2 has a video band width
- of 90 MHz. I am a proud owner of an Mod. 55sx with a monitor that can
- handle all the specifications XGA-2 wants (resolution, horizontal and
- vertical frequencies, etc.) except the video band width which is 80 MHz at
- 3dB (it's a EIZO F550).
- I consider buying the XGA-2. Do I need a new monitor then? I am very
- satisfied with my PS/2 but it's just too slow for serious OS/2 2.0 work.
- Will ordinary VGA programs run faster (i.e. does XGA-2 disable the onboard
- 8-bit video chip)? What is the bandwidth of the IBM monitors?
-
- Help is very much appreciated, thanks in advance!
