- No. You will probably see an improvement in disk performance, not a loss. The
- time needed to uncompress 512 bytes of data is less than the time needed to
- read another 512 bytes.

- The main problem with a 286 is the conventional memory requirements of these
- programs. Unless you have a chipset which allows you to use shadow RAM (and
- thus load the de/compressor driver high) you may be tight for conventional RAM.

- With a 386sx you can load drivers high so you should be OK.
