  14. Allow me to vent my frustration at Gateway 2000, and ask fellow Gateway   
  15. owners to complain with me.

  17. Okay.  When I bought my system, I chose Word for Windows as my software option.
  18. Two months later, I heard from a friend that Microsoft was distributing
  19. version 2.0b to correct bugs in version 2.0a, which I received from Gateway.
  20. After talking with the folks at Microsoft, I learned I would have to get all
  21. upgrades through Gateway.  (there are no registration numbers associated
  22. with the disks and manuals I received)  No problem, thought I.  A call to
  23. Gateway informed me that they expected version 2.0b in mid-October, and
  24. that a call to their add-on section would get me an upgrade at that time.But 
  25. this morning, I was told by the add-on section that GW would not be distributing
  26. 2.0b, and that 2.0a was still being shipped with new orders.
  27. The bottom line is this:  although a good deal is apparent when one obtains
  28. this program through GW 2000, you are something less than a full fledged
  29. registered owner.  I am in the process of trying to get through on their
  30. phone line to scream at someone, but needed to get this off my chest.
