- I have been using my 386 system (upgraded to a Cyrix 486DLC CPU chip)
- for a couple of days and have discovered a problem...
-
- If I run with the do_cache.exe program which enables the 486DLC internal
- cache, the performance improvement is dramatic. However, enabling
- the cache causes the Soundblaster Pro board to misbehave. Namely,
- various programs that talk to the SBPro complains about "cannot detect
- DMA channel" or somesuch.
-
- If I run without running do_cache.exe, then the SBPro works fine.
-
- Can someone explain the cause of this and perhaps suggest a solution?
- I would really like to be able to run with the internal cache on at
- all times...
