- We recently obtained an old IBM compatable computer from surplus
- at our university. We tried to use FDISK to format the harddrive....
- it responded with "fixed disk not present".
-
- Upon booting the computer, it tries to boot from the harddrive
- and then throws a 1701 on the screen and then boots from a floppy.
-
- I got an "Invalid Drive Specification" error....everytime I try
- to do anything to the harddrive.... The computer is an old Tandy
- that we want to use for modem uses from our observatory. The
- harddrive would come in handy.
-
- Any ideas?
