  17. ly  the middle portion disappeared. Many students here complained about    this
  18. problem that might be caused by some bugs in the OS (after logging in from SUN
  19. system).

  21.     Let  me  tell  you my problem again. I bought my Toshiba laptop three 
  22. years ago. It is a T1600 model with 12 MHz 80286 CPU.  I want  to upgrade the
  23. CPU to 386SX or higher so I can run OS2 and many memory menagement utilities.
  24. I call  many  companies  about  their upgrade boards but all of them are  not
  25. compatible with this model. Although, some of them work really well with many
  26. 286 laptops e.g. some models of Compaq and Toshiba(T3200).

  28.     These products are not compatible with Toshiba T1600;
  29.         -Intel Snap-in boards
  30.         -Kingston SX Now boards
  31.         -AOX Stax boards
  32.         -AST boards
  33.         -Cumulus boards
  34.             etc.
  35. These boards are really small (e.g. credit card size). All of them can directly
  36. plug in 286 socket(emulate 286 BUS) and can use the existing  RAM  & 287 on the
  37. main board. I will call many more vendors that I 've just found them from the 
  38. lastest PC & electronic magazines including Tech Direct, Sota Tech and Orchid
  39. Tech., etc.

  41.     If someone can help me about the upgrading, have some suggestions, or 
  42. just  want  to  tell me somethings, please let me know (phone, fax, TELNET or 
  43. letter).
