- Hi, Doug:
-
- My $0.02 worth: Viewsonic.
-
- Main reasons are (1) independent reviews rate Viewsonic above equivalent
- NECs in *most* (not all) cases; e.g. Infoworld, Infocomm, Comp. Shopper,
- etc., and (2) I use a Viewsonic 6 myself and *love* it.
-
- Things to look for: Refresh rate (higher nums are better),
- vertical/horizontal frequency (again, higher frequency ranges are better).,
- *dot pitch* (The smaller, the better - .28 is good, .25 is better),
- location of controls - can they be accessed easily ? And, how *many*
- controls? Can you adjust not only screen intensity, but also horizontal
- and vertical positions? Can you *expand* the screen vertically and
- horizontally? My V6 lets me do all this using the wheels on the *front*
- of the crt...
-
- I'm not sure, but I think the V8 is .28 dot pitch; it *might* be .25.
- I've seen one displayed, and was suitably impressed; but I did not
- actually get to run my own VGA tests on the beast.
-
- Hope this helps!
