  21.    If you have Windows 3.1 installed, it could be that Smartdrive is double
  22. buffering. Check your config.sys. This can _really_ slow a system down (by
  23. 30% or more it seems sometimes). If this is the case then you need to see if
  24. you can remove that line safely by opening a DOS window, typing SMARTDRV /S,
  25. and seeing if the column labeled "buffering" says "no". If it does you can
  26. remove that line in your config.sys. If it says "yes" or "-" then don't
  27. remove it. Drivers may be available for your SCSI card that would allow you
  28. to remove it if you can get a hold of them (i.e. ASPI4DOS for the Adaptec
  29. controllers).
