- Given a fairly generic 486 machine, what would you consider to

- This is wide open. Price isn't an overwhelming issue (this would
- be used by many people [1]). I'm just trying to gather some facts on what
- you think is good, and what to stay away from.

- [1] ok, so let's say: what can you get for $2000, $5000? $10,000?

- Ideally, the OCR software should be able to work off of bitmap
- files (not be limited to whatever scan is going on at the moment). Converting
- amongst any of the major file formats is not a concern.
