- In general it is not possible to combine an IDE and a RLL drive.
- The reason is that both controllers use the same addressrange.
- There is however a shareware program available, I think at
- SIMTEL in the directory dskutl, the program is called 3_DRIVES.
- This program will allow you to use any drive connected to a
- controller working on the alternate address range 170-177.
- Documentation on how the setup the drive is included in the
- zip file.
- If your controller does not have the abbility to change the address
- from the primary address (1f0-1F7) you can not use the program.
- However by modifying your controllercard, inserting a TTL inverter
- component in address line A7, it should always be possible to
- change the controller to the alternate address.
