  18. Hmmm... There are two major RAMDACs for the mach32 cards:

  20.     ATI68830    up to 80MHz  PCLK
  21.     ATI68875    up to 135MHz PCLK

  23. I would gues you are using a card with the first one (just look at
  24. your board and read the number on the second big IC). To get 1280x1024
  25. non interlaced you would need a PLCK of at least 110MHz. The 68830
  26. won't do that. Hence they recommended you to upgrade to the 68875.
  27. But I don't know whether this is possible (these RAMDACs might not
  28. have the same pinout ...).

  30. Btw, the Ultra Pro is running fine in 1280x1024, althought I'm a
  31. little bit disappointed by the image on the screen. It not very sharp,
  32. at laest not that sharp how other 1280x1024 boards ...

  34. Also I'm a little bit surprised about the performance of the new
  35. boards. I did expect quite a bit more from the new mach32 given the
  36. time ATI had to do the chip. I'm running X, and the mach8 gave me
  37. 85k xstones, while the mach32 gives me around 100k xstones ... Hence
  38. let's wait for new faster boards ...
