  11. An associate says he remembers seeing articles that described how to write
  12. protect a hard disk that had an IDE controller.  The technique was to write
  13. to a certain register which hardware disabled writes to the drive.  This
  14. mode could only be undone by warm boot or power off (not sure which).
  15. Anyone know more specifics about how to do this?
