- No! It's not true! Adaptec end user support is horrid! I had a 1742A
- that I struggled with for six weeks and spent over $50 on phone calls
- to Adaptec user support --- MOSTLY ON HOLD and mostly just to leave my
- phone number to promises of being called back. I WAS NEVER (NEVER!)
- CALLED BACK! The only way I ever got to speak to a person at Adaptec
- was to complain loudly and demand to speak to a supervisor. That works.
- I hated my experience with Adaptec. Once I had succeeded in demonstrating
- to them that I had a bad board they screwed me around so bad about getting
- a replacement that I returned it to the vendor and took a $100 hit on a
- restocking fee and bought a BusLogic 747S. My experience with the
- BusLogic User Support is a joy! They have all the technologic marcvels
- mentioned by Mike Berger PLUS they have helpful friendly real live
- people. Sometimes people are a nice addition to user support. The
- leading technology position that Adaptec holds is not the whole picture.
- There is just not that much technology seperating the SCSI Host Adapter
- manufacturers to justify putting up with rotten service.
