  14.     I am still peaved that RAM prices have doubled overnight seamingly
  15. all over N. America and the reasons I'm getting from marketing people don't
  16. wash.  They are still blaming the American Protectionist bill and saying that
  17. their cost from the distributers has gone up.  Something is very fishy.  From
  18. what I can tell the bill was only calling for 20% hike and it hasn't even
  19. passed yet and it wasn't due to go into effect until April 93.  Why it should
  20. ever effect Canadian prices is questionable to begin with, even more so when
  21. the price rises ahead of any legislation.  It stinks of speculation and price
  22. fixing.  Why not hoard ram chips just before Christmas and a possible American
  23. legislation and see what the market will bear.  If the bill does go through,
  24. then somebody has made a 20% profit on investment, even more if the shortage
  25. has caused the price to go even higher.  I guess I'm committed to wait this
  26. one out until the price drops back down to a reasonable level.  Maybe ram
  27. prices were very low but 100% increases are !#@$!@# $%^& and I'm pissed off.
