- Another way to do color might be something called the 'Omicron' process.
- This was written up quite a bit about 1-2 years ago in the 'Hardware
- Hacker' column of Radio-Electronics. Basically this stuff was sheets of
- color that would stick to toner (copier, laser printer, etc.). You would
- print your image normally (on a b&w printer) and then cut out these sheets of
- color and tape them to your original. Then you ran the image plus the color
- sheets back through the laser printer (but didn't print anything). The heat
- remelts the toner and some of the color sticks to it. Presto, color images
- from a laser printer! It wasn't "true" color, just blocks of color, but
- for some applications it worked well. It could (I think) also be used with
- a black Omicron sheet to make "really black" images for making PC boards,
- or lithographics cameras, etc.
