  11. This may be an FAQ; I hope not.

  13. I just bought the Quantum 240 AT hard disk drive. It has an on-board
  14. 256K cache, supposedly, and is supposed to be blinding fast. I haven't
  15. really gotten a chance to test its speed, but I have noticed that
  16. even when nothing's going on, it seems to make a chukka-chukka-chukka
  17. sound about every ten seconds.

  19. Is this normal? Am I misinterpreting what I'm hearing? I didn't get
  20. any docs with this drive (it came installed in a system I bought)
  21. and I'd like to know what's going on. It's a little disconcerting
  22. and I'm sure it's going to bother me when I'm trying to think.
