- The MicroSolutions drive is slower than molasses. But I am comparing
- that to the CMS drive running from their TC-15 card.
-
- I would say it runs about 1/4 as fast.
- The MicroSolutions software is markedly different and does not
- allow as much versatility as the CMS software. For example,
- there is no Search capability. I do not know how this
- drive compares with the new CMS printer port drive.
-
- CMS has announced a tape drive which works from the printer
- port. This certainly as attraction from the point of view for
- sharing the drive with more than one PC, just as one can do
- with printers. BTW, the printer does not seem affected by
- the tape drive.
-
- OS/2 is not yet supported by CMS, tho I understand that there are
- other mfr's drives which are. CMS promises OS/2 support by year-end.
- On the comp.os.os2.misc net people have posted ways to get the
- CMS drive to work with OS/2 using the msdos software.
- I have no experience with this.
