- Brian, Brian, Brian, Brian,... you get the point.
- I know exactly where you're comin' from. One problem that you may
- be havin' is that your not doin' EVERY step of the processs in binary
- mode. You have to ftp in binary mode, get the stuff from the terminal in
- binary mode, and give it to the hp48 in binary mode. EVERY TIME you use
- kermit, for instance, you have to write "set file type binary" or some,
- such thing. I suspect that your not ftping in binary. Any way, Joe Horn
- has written a program that is supposed to "fix" bad downloads; i.e. when
- you get a bad download, you end up with a string that looks like:
- "HPHP48-(*#&$)(*$KLDF)$KJND$()*&i089743897^#$78..." and this
- program, it's called 'fixit' takes a bad binary and tries to FIXIT. You
- can key in the program manually and you can find the source code
- somewhere on the hpbbs (maybe in files.hp48). In any case, that SHOULD
- be a temporary solution.
-
- And by the way, you think the original manual is nasty and hard to
- read? Compared to some of the other stuff (on system RPL and ML), the
- originlan manual is a story book!
