- Ok, this time for the cheap seats. Assuming you know the pin
- numbers for a 25-pin serial port connector (I think it's a DB-25, just a
- guess) Here are the pins for the back of the HP48[SX]:
-
- Pin # 4321
- _____________||||___
- | HP ^ |

- Pin X on HP to Pin Y on Serial (25 PIN!!!)

- " 2 " " " " 3 " "
- " 3 " " " " 2 " "
- " 4 " " " " 7 " "

- On a 9-pin I THINK it is: (But don't quote me.)

- HP Serial
- 1 (Nothing?)
- 2 2
- 3 3
- 4 5

- Good luck, I know the 25-pin connections work, because those are
- the ones I use on my cable, the 9-pins I just translated, and I am
- notorious for goofing pin connections up so CHECK THEM! I have posted
- this before, but if you need a connector (cheap) for the back of the HP,
- try pulling the metal sockets (gently) out of an IC dip socket. You press
- those into a carved eraser, (making sure that they are aligned) and that
- is what I use. Whole cable cost me < $5.
